"I have been working with students of all ages for more than 8 years. I received my Bachelor's Degree in English in 2009, and I received my Teaching Credential in English in 2010, both from California State University, Long Beach. I am considered a "highly-qualified" teacher, meaning that in order to earn my degree, I had to undergo intense training and meet specific state-wide educational goals. I am qualified to work with ESL and EFL students, and I have extensive experience working with diverse groups of ESL/EFL speakers inside and outside of the classroom.
I have experience teaching at the elementary level and at the high school level, and I have been working as a Private English Instructor to adults for about two years. I absolutely love teaching, and I strive to make each students' learning experience unique, fun, and a challenge. I believe in a student-centered approach, where as an educator, I understand that everyone learns differently. I take pride in the fact that I differentiate instruction to meet the individual needs of each and every person--children or adults. Learning English can be difficult, so it is important to find a learning style that fits each person.
Over the past 7 years, I have tutored and worked with students and adults from the following countries: Brazil, China, Croatia, Israel, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Russia, and Spain. I currently work as an online tutor and instructor to students in China who are working on earning a dual Bachelor's Degree (in China and the US). I will be launching a project in the upcoming month in which I will be working with college students in Lebanon who are applying to business schools across the US.
My hours are fairly flexible and rates vary depending on the services needed. Typical English lessons range from $15-30/hour, and are scheduled 1-2 days per week for a minimum of 2 months. Clients are welcome to request their own lesson preferences for length, times, and frequency.
